Chelsea has fired manager Carlo Ancelotti after a 1-0 loss at Everton completed a season which had "fallen short of expectations", the club said in a statement.

Aston Villa Looking To Spend Cash To Convince Young To Stay

According to Mat Kendrick at the Birmingham MailAston Villa are looking to make a few signings this summer in the hope of convincing 25-year-old midfielder Ashley Young to stay. Boss Gary McAllister said,
“I think people were thinking that was staged, but his calf was screaming and he came off … It wasn’t a case of him coming off and waving goodbye. We’re still going to try and keep him.
“We have to keep trying and maybe a couple of signings here and there might help … There is interest, we’re sure there is because of the amount of speculation in and around Ashley for a long time now.
“We have to try to sell the club by trying to convince him we can bring the quality of player who one day we can get to that level.
“There’s no way of predicting how it’s going to work. Until such time as someone comes in with a bid that is acceptable to Villa, Ashley will still be a Villa player.
“He has a year left on his contract. Like James Milner, it probably took too long … But there’s no way of me predicting how other clubs are going to go about their business.”

Midfielder Denilson To Leave Arsenal This Summer

May 20th, 2011
According to Rob Beasley at The SunArsenal midfielder Denilson admitted that he will be leaving Arsenal this summer due to the frustration of a lack of silverware.  Denilson said,
“There’s something missing at Arsenal but no one knows what it is. Not the manager, not the players - nobody … Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool spend millions and millions on players.
“But we are still the best footballing side in Britain, we play beautiful football. Only Barcelona do it better. But we don’t win trophies … That’s so frustrating, you can’t imagine how frustrating … Arsenal is a great club, we have a great manager and so many talented players. So we should be collecting silverware. And there are no excuses for it.

Man United Looking To Make Three Signings This Summer

May 19th, 2011
According to Sky Sports NewsManchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is looking to sign three players this summer to strengthen his squad. Ferguson told MUTV,

“We have some ideas in mind … Hopefully we can get them put in place … We have Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes coming towards the end of their careers, Gary Neville has already retired and Edwin van der Sar is retiring, so there are holes we want to plug up in terms of the safety and security of the team for the next few years.
“Of course, we have some excellent young players and a lot of them have progressed, which gives us a great, powerful squad … I am looking at maybe three signings which would boost our overall quality in our team.”

Tevez’s Family Will Decide Whether He Stays At Man City
May 16th, 2011
According to Ken Gaunt at the Press AssociationManchester City striker Carlos Tevez admitted that his stay at the club will depend on his family. Tevez said,
“My family are my priority, I don’t have a problem with anyone at the club. Everyone treats me right … I have a great relationship with (Roberto) Mancini. We are both winners. But there is an issue we need to sort out and that’s the long distance between me and my family.
“There are still two games to play and we are only focused on that. Then I will talk with my family and everyone else. I have not made a decision on anything yet … The club wants to me stay and I also want to stay if everything is okay for my family.
“I don’t know if I’m going to leave or not or going to Spain or Italy. People say I am going but I am still here.”
